Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Don 2’ has been able to do a good box-office business. On the opening day, the film has been able to earn a good amount of Rs 15 crores. Trade guru predicts that the number will go up in the coming days.
Analyst feels that the mark is lower compared to ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Ra.One’ but they are hopeful that ‘Don 2’ will make up in the coming days. Gautam Dutta, chief operating officer, PVR Cinemas said, "Average occupancy across shows was 85-90%. A good thing is that bulk bookings by corporates for the next two days are also very high."
The film also had a great opening in overseas . In the UAE, it grossed $360,000 which is more compared to ‘My Name is Khan’ which had collected $240,000 on the first day.
The year has been awesome for the box-office. ‘Bodyguard’ has done a whopping business of Rs 89 crores in the first five days, ‘RA.One’ is fourth in the list with a collection of Rs 80.3 crores in first five days.
