Aamir delays Imran-Avantika’s reception

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik tied the knot on January 8th 2011 and Manu Aamir Khan has planned a big fat wedding reception where Bollywood who’s who will be invited but Mr. Perfectionist is delaying the program has Kiran Rao’s directional debut, ‘Dhobi Ghat’ will hit the theatre on January 21 and Aamir and Kiran are busy with the promotion of the film.

Citing the reason of the delay, Aamir maintains, "Yes, I do want to host a big reception but I have not thought of any date yet. There is no time to have any such event now. It is too close to the release of Dhobi Ghat on January 21."

He adds, "The countdown has begun for us. Both Kiran and I will be travelling for the film's promotions. She will also be touring with the cast. So any such plans are on hold for now."

Imran and Avantika headed for group honeymoon in Thailand and only two members of the family, Aamir and Kiran stayed back.

"We are the only two members of the family who are not with the newly-weds for their marriage celebrations in Thailand.

Even going for a day was not proving to be feasible as we have our outstation commitments for Dhobi Ghat promotions," says Aamir.

Imran turns 28 on 13th and he will be celebrating the D-day with his newly wedded wife Avantika and other family members in Thailand.
