Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is geared to commence the shoot of his biopic on Olympian sprinter titled Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and wants the film to be as authentic as possible. The star athlete was born in Lyallpur which is now a part of Pakistan’s Punjab province and has been renamed Faisalabad. The director hopes to gain all the required permission to shoot the film in Pak. But it might be tough to get permissions to shoot there. The director is quite positive though. “Yes we are quite keen to shoot on the borders of Pakistan to get more authenticity to the film as Milkha was born in one of the towns there. We will be applying for permissions soon,” said the director.
The production team does not want to take any chance though, so they have been searching for locations near the borders of both Pakistan and India. The team feels that the typography in both states is similar and they would be able to shoot in either place without any issues. But Rakeysh is still keen to apply for permissions in Pak before taking this call. What happens if he gets permission to shoot in both places? Now that would definitely be a tough decision to make and we are sure that the Rang De Basanti director will make the right choice.
