Salman Khan has a universal mass appeal. His last Eid offerings ‘Wanted’ and ‘Dabangg’ was a box office success while this year he brings in ‘Bodyguard’ which is a Hindi remake of a Malayalam movie. If it is Salman Khan’s movie then it is obviously gonna to be a ‘first day first show’ for the audience. For the last few years, Sallu has made a point to capture the theatre during festive season.

If Salman Khan as Chulbul Pandey a fearless inspector has won the heart of audience then Lovely Singh as suave bodyguard will make young girls fall weak at his knees. Director Siddique has fully used Salman Khan in the movie and extracts the best out of him. Salman Khan's movie used to be light hearted with a interesting plot at the backdrop.

Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s combination might not have clicked in 'Main Aur Mrs Khanna' but the audience can’t wait to see this wonderful couple on-screen.

‘Bodyguard’ speaks about Lovely Singh (Salman Khan) who is very sincere in his profession. If he gets involved in something, he gives his 100 percent to it. He is a handsome bodyguard who is assigned with the task of safeguarding Divya (Kareena Kapoor). Speculating the danger over Divya’s head, her father Sartaj Rana (Raj Babbar) assigned Lovely Singh to safeguard his daughter.

Very sincere in work, Lovely Singh doesn’t leave Divya a second and follows her from classroom to bathroom. Over protective nature of Lovely has made Divya’s life a hell. She could not spend time alone and peacefully.

To get over Lovely, Divya has churned out a plan. To divert her over protective bodyguard from his duty, she played an anonymous caller Chayya who calls him on his private number and wins his heart with her lovey-daovey talk. How Lovely get to know about the fake caller and what will be his reaction when he will come to know that the unknown caller is none other than Divya forms the rest of the story.

Salman Khan has again returned with a bang with ‘Bodyguard’. His comic timing, action and serious sequence were perfect. He was totally into his character and delivers his best. He won’t disappoint his fans yet again. Kareena Kapoor in simple attire looked awesome. She dazzled in acting and as well as in looks. Aditya Pancholi, Raj Babbar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Hazel Keech, Asrani and Vidya Sinha all have delivered their best.

Director Siddique’s direction was commendable. In musical font, the music of Bodyguard’ could not contribute to the film’s success expect one or two. Sandeep Shirodkar's background score is effective. Sejal Shah's camera work is superb. Vijayan's stunts are stylish and swift and Sanjay Sankla's editing is also praiseworthy.

In the nutshell, ‘Bodyguard’ will again impress the audience. It will bring a major return to the box office. It is a masala entertainer that would add to the celebration of Eid and Ganesh Chaturthi.
