News : Prateik drops his surname, hurts dad Raj Babbar

Prateik Babbar, son of late Smita Patil and actor political Raj Babbar who debuted with Aamir Khan’s ‘Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na’ has miffed his father Raj Babbar. What irked Raj is that his son Prateik has dropped his surname. Prateik was never close to his father and stayed separately and maintained a distance. He wants to have his own individuality in the industry and does not want to be known as anyone’s son or brother.

Raj expresses his love for his son Pratik. “I want my family as well as Pratik's mother's family to know that he is and always will be my son. Whatever Aarya or any other else has to say Pratik is my younger son. And as far as I am concerned I have three children Juhi, Aarya and Pratik. That will never change. ”

Prateik never showed love for Raj Babbar or his family but the veteran actor refused to accept so, “I refuse to believe that. I've seen the love and respect in Pratik's eyes for me. And that's enough to give me reason to believe that all my children love me and will be there for me when I need them. So what if Pratik has dropped the 'Babbar' surname? It's his choice and prerogative”

Before Prateik ventured into acting, he worked as an assistant to ad maker Prahlad Kakkar. He won critical acclamation for KIran Rao’s ‘Dhobi Ghat’. Next, he will be seen in action-thriller ‘Dum Maro Dum’ alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Rana Daggubati.
