Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt was issued a bailable warrant of Rs. 10,000 after he failed to appear in a case pertaining the allegedly derogatory remarks he made against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati. This happened during an election rally for the Lok Sabha polls last year.
The then general secretary of Samajwadi Party, Sanju Baba, during an election campaign rally, had allegedly said that given a chance he would give jaadu ki jhappi and pappi to Mayawati.
After Dutt’s comment, an FIR was lodged against him by the then district magistrate and a charge sheet was filed by police. Now, the warrant has been issued because Dutt hasn’t been appearing in the case.
The court has reportedly fixed January 15 as the next date of hearing.
