Abbas Tyrewala has come up with another love story after ‘Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na’ but with a different treatment. The film was in news as Abbas Tyrewala’s wife Pakhi enacted the female lead. It is a love story but it lacks in emotions. The film is very pale and lacks what the usual love story possesses. In the movie, John Abraham was seen in two different avatars. It is a film made with handful of people.

The film is set entirely in London. It is about set of friends who has a special bonding between them. They are neighbors, work together and always there for each other. Among them was Sid (John Abraham) who owns a book store named ‘Kagaz Ke Phool’. He runs the book store with his Pakistani friend Omar (Raghu Ram) in London. He is dominated by his girlfriend Kutika (Manashi Scott). Sid was hot and simple but stammers when any beautiful girl comes to his store and he has to interact with them.

Everything was going fine until one day his number was printed mistakenly on fliers of an Indian emergency suicide helpline and he started receiving endless phone calls from the people who lost the enthusiasm to live life. He had to answer as well as motivate those who calls him in desperation and wanted to end their life. One such caller is Mishka (Pakhi). She comes to the rescue of Sid. Mishka broken up with her boyfriend (R Madhavan) and she was heartbroken.

She called up Sid every night and gets relaxed. Gradually, she falls for the phoner friend. Sid knows who Mishka is as she visits her book shop but Mishka is totally unaware about the real identity of Sid. She confesses her love for Sid on phone and shares her feelings with Sid in person. In the process to maintain relationship with Mishka, he went to tell lies and lies.

The greatest problem with the film is that the film is not entertaining. The script by Abbas Tyrewala is very pale. The story is not engaging. AR Rahman could not impress with his music.

Speaking about performances, John Abraham was very good in his performance. Pakhi is an immature actor, she needs to develop and grow up as an actor. She looks too matured compared to John. Raghu Ram is fine. R. Madhavan had a very small role to enact.

In the nutshell, ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’ is a total letdown. The film could not impress the audience. Hope, Abbas made some better film next time that keeps the movie lovers hook to their seats.
