Vipul Shah and Akshay Kumar came up with another exciting movie, ‘Action Replayy’. As far as the promo is concern, it has really been able to impress the audience. Coming to the music, Vipul Shah for the first time has assigned the task of composing the music of his film to ace composer and the composer of the present generation, Pritam Chakraborty.
Vipul Shah and Akshay Kumar has together delivered music chartbusters like ‘Aakhen’, ‘Waqt-Race Against Time’, ‘Namastey London’. ‘London Dreams’ was also quite musical.
The lyrics of ‘Action Replayy’ have been penned by Irshad Kamil. The album has 9 original tracks and 4 remixes. The album is highly enjoyable, foot-tapping and entertaining. As far we can understand from the style and statement of the film, it speaks about 70’s.
The album opens with 'Zor Ka Jhatka' which is playing very much in channels. It’s a foot-tapping and highly enjoyable number. Irshad Kamil penned the lyrics of the song and Pritam has done a wonderful job. As it plays, the initial tuning resemblance to ‘Chor Bazaari’ from ‘Love Aaj Kal’ but soon it takes a different mood. Daler Mehendi and Richa Sharma compliment each other in the song and it is very jhakaas to hear. In the coming days, it will rock the chartbusters.
Next track of the album is ‘O Bekhabar’. It’s a romantic number composed and filmed in 70’s style. The queen of romantic number Shreya Ghosal crooned the number very soothingly. As it is says her voice fit for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, she has been chosen to sing for Ash again. Snowy mountain, flowery scenery, shiffon saree, Ash beauty, Shreyas’s melodious voice and wonderful lyrics all combine together to make the number worth hearing and a delightful watch.
The third track of the album is ‘Nakhre’. It gives a purely retro feeling. It is about nock-jhok in college and the composition is very interesting. Francois Castellino sing the song and number is quite fun filled. Akshay Kumar is sure to rock in this song.
The fourth track of the album goes as ‘Chhan Ke Mohalla’ which is a Holi number. Here Aishwarya sing and dance with her friends. It has a desi flavor which is completely different from the earlier tracks. While Akki has done a holi number before but for Ash it is a new feeling. As far as the song goes, it has the flavor to win the audience.
Karthik, Mahalaxmi and Antara Mitra together come for the fifth track, ‘Tera Mera Pyar’. It is romantic number picturised in the beautiful location of Kullu-Manali. The scenic beauty of the place enhances the beauty of the song. Pritam is an expert composer of romantic numbers and like his earlier offerings, this romantic number is sure to woo the audience.
The sixth track goes as ‘Luk Chup Jaana’ sung by KK and some lines crooned by Tulsi. Drums and guitar beats are more common here and it is basically a pop number. Unlike the others, this song fail to impress us. KK’s magic could not spell magic this time.
Another rocking number is ‘I Am Dog Gone Crazy’ crooned by Suraj Jogan. The style of singing is of the seventies style, rock and roll. The lyric is not too impressive.
The final track of the album is ‘Baki Main Bhool Gayi’. This is a romantic number where the protagonist speaks about her falling in love. Not very ear soothing. It is passable.
In the nutshell, ‘Action Replayy’ is quite musical with loads of song numbers. This Diwali, Pritam’s new offering is definitely going to rock. Wonderful treat for the music lovers.
