Deepika, Farah end rivalry, become friends again

After the success of ‘Om Shanti Om’, Deepika Padukone had almost forgotten choreographer turned filmmaker Farah Khan who has given her the first break. Deepika got busy with other projects and she just ignored Farah
Khan. But now the two had buried their old hatchet and coming together for Shirish Kunder’s next film
titled, ‘Joker’. According to source, Akshay Kumar will be cast opposite Deepika.

A source close to Joker revealed, “Deepika and Shirish are in advanced talks. She is the prime contender to fill the heroine’s slot in the film.”

After going through the script, Deepika fell in love with her character and agreed to play the role. The source added, “Deepika is very excited to be backing Farah Khan’s fold. After all, it was Farah who gave her first super hit film Om Shanti Om.”

On being asked about signing Deepika, Shirish Kunder sounded bit diplomatic, “We are currently in the process of casting the main lead opposite Akshay for Joker. Certain top names are being considered. It is a performance-oriented role. Akshay and I will take the final call in a week.”

Farah however, chose to clarify the matter. She said, “Jo bhi hua tha, it got sorted out long ago. She came for Eid to my place recently and also on my show.”
