Director Anjan Dutt’s ‘Chowrasta Crossroads
of Love’, which has released all over this Friday, is a take on intertwined lives of people in the picturesque town of Darjeeling.
The film stars critically acclaimed actor Victor Banerjee in the role of a tea planter who writes love letters to his deceased wife. There is a strict school teacher who struggles to face his divorced wife (Rupa Ganguly) and her new lover who re-enters his life. Then there is this honeymooning couple (Naved Aslam and Aparajita) weathering their first tiff. The film also stars Atul Kulkarni in the role of a terrorist who envisions the formation of Gorkhaland even as he struggles to evade law.
The movie seems to be an effort of bringing onto screen the sundry lives of commoners and also showcasing what happens when they criss-cross each other on and around an unclear chowrasta (derived from the central point of Darjeeling).
Each character in the flick is trying to find a new equilibrium in his/her unsettled life. Catch this one to find out if these larger than life characters survive in their endeavours.
